This study aims to analyze the mechanisms for promoting start-ups and enabling them to integrate into global value chains by reviewing the South Korean experience as a successful reference model in this field. The study sought to highlight a set of integrated policies and cumulative strategies pursued by South Korea to transform its start-ups into key players in the global economy by focusing on promoting innovation, building technological capabilities, and expanding the international openness of companies. The results of the study show that Korea’s success was not the results of a single factor, but rather the result of coordinated interaction between industrial, technological, and trade policies, which contributed to creating a dynamic environment that stimulated competitiveness and sustainable growth. Finally, this study confirms that developing countries can benefit from the South Korean experience by adapting its approach to local contexts, thereby enhancing their ability to integrate into global value chains and contributing to a more open and sustainable economic growth trajectory.
