One Health is a comprehensive approach that recognizes the close interconnection between human health, animal health, and environmental integrity. This concept aims to address complex health challenges that transcend the traditional boundaries of medical, veterinary, and environmental disciplines by promoting collaboration across sectors to ensure an effective response to emerging health threatsThe relevance of this approach became particularly evident during outbreaks such as avian influenza and the COVID-19 pandemic, where shortcomings in intersectoral cooperation contributed to the worsening of health crises. One Health is grounded in principles of deep prevention, joint surveillance, and coordinated response. It advocates for the construction of resilient health systems capable of anticipating risks and addressing them at their source. It also represents a foundational pillar for achieving global health securityand calls for the strengthening of national and international legal frameworks as well as multisectoral partnerships involving organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH). In this context, Algeria, as a party to several international health agreements, is committed to promoting the One Health approach within its national health policy, particularly in light of the proposed amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR 2024) . Algeria's Law No. 18-11 on public health also reflects the principles of preventive protection and integration among the health, environmental, and veterinary sectors, aligning with the One Health logic.
