Despite the incompleteness of the general principles of archaeology in the nineteenth century, we cannot deny the intensive efforts made by exploratory figures in introducing Yemen as a land and civilization, through their rescue of a significant number of material resources, most of which were subjected to sabotage and smuggling. In the second half of the 20th century, foreign archaeological expeditions continued to be interested in the region, but this time they were led by organized research teams with expertise in archaeology and ancillary sciences, as well as local personalities. From the 1970s to the present day, more than tens of thousands of inscriptions have been collected, many of which are written in the Musnad script. The Musnad alphabet, like other scripts, has undergone developments, and we can therefore distinguish between three types of scripts: The geometric monumental monumental script is for the official side, the continuous and light zabur script is for commercial and administrative transactions, while the scribbles are for the common people. As for the language of the Musnad inscriptions, it varies with the diversity of ancient Yemeni dialects, where we find (Sabaean, Ma'ini, Qutbani, Hadhrami), all branches of the mother Semitic language, all of which are branches of the Semitic language. The question of the date of the emergence of the Musnad letters remains difficult to determine, as long as archaeological research remains partial.
