. Abstract: This article tackles a significant issue in the history of ancient Yemen: the conditions under which agricultural kingdoms emerged. These kingdoms drew their strength from the agricultural expertise gained from the late 4th millennium B.C. and early 3rd millennium B.C., known in the scientific field as the Bronze Age or the dawn of history. The beginnings of human settlement in the region occurred due to the temperate climate in the upper and middle western slopes and the fertile mountainous plains. Rain-fed agriculture appeared and then evolved into irrigated agriculture, following the introduction of techniques and agricultural methods (dams, water distribution channels, and agricultural terraces). By the end of the 2nd millennium and the beginning of the 1st millennium B.C., an agricultural revolution and demographic growth emerged. The demand for agricultural land increased along with skirmishes between tribes, ultimately leading to the establishment of politically organized agricultural entities on the edges of the Sahid desert (Ramlat al-Sabateen). These were represented by the kingdoms of: Saba, Ma'in, Qataban, Hadramawt, and Himyar, which worked to calm the situation and regulate agricultural activity.
