Authors : Fergani Chahinez .

Abstract

This article aims to assess the translation of dialogue, noting that it represents an important part of a literary text. For the translator, translation of dialogue is considered a challenge due to the interconnection between linguistic, cultural, and contextual dimensions. Therefore, the success of the translation process depends not only on meticulous language transfer, but also on the ability to preserve the rhythm, tone, emotion, and weight of the dialogue (role) in the original text. The study was based on comparing two translations into Arabic and the use of translation procedures used in translating dialogue in order to preserve the intended meaning.
