Abstract

This study addresses the growing environmental and economic pressures linked to achieving carbon neutrality and sustainable energy adoption. It explores how declining investment costs in renewable energy accelerate the global energy transition, highlighting China as a leading case. Despite being the largest carbon emitter, China has become the top producer of solar and wind power, surpassing global output through strategic policies and governmental support. The findings show that falling renewable energy costs enable both developed and developing economies to enter the clean energy market, reshaping global power systems and fostering sustainable infrastructure while balancing economic growth with environmental goals.
