The global maritime industry's growth has led to challenges in port infrastructure and operations. Dry ports have emerged as an innovative solution, functioning as seaport extensions and offering numerous advantages to maritime and logistics industries. This study examines dry ports' status and policies in Algeria, focusing on their contribution to the country's intermodal logistics network. Benefits include shorter transit times, cost reductions, enhanced intermodal capacity, improved inland accessibility, reduced delays, and lower customs-related costs. Dry ports also help mitigate externalities associated with traditional transportation methods. Algeria's maritime sector faces challenges such as limited port capacity, reliance on road transport, and operational inefficiencies. Implementing dry ports offers a promising solution to these issues. The research emphasizes the need for regulatory reform, infrastructure investment and strategic planning to fully realize the benefits of dry ports in Algeria.
