Résumé

Abstract: This research aimed to investigate certain physiological traits, precisely Maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max), and their correlation with performance in middle-distance running events (1200 meters and 2000 meters) among students exhibiting athletic prowess. A descriptive research methodology was employed, with the participant pool consisting of 39 athletically gifted students actively participating in middle-distance running events (1200 meters and 2000 meters). The VAMEVAL assessment was utilized to quantify Maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max), while the photo finish technique was implemented to evaluate performance outcomes. The study's findings revealed a statistically significant relationship between Maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) and performance metrics in both the 1200 and 2000 meters events within the sampled population.
