The Algerian legislator imposes an obligation on the employer to provide healthcare for the worker. This includes the duty to establish medical structures and facilities within the workplace, as occupational medicine is considered the responsibility of the employing institution, which must ensure its implementation. The primary role of the occupational physician is to provide both therapeutic and preventive healthcare within the employing institution. This mainly involves providing medical treatment to workers, preventing infectious diseases, conducting medical examinations, and offering first aid. In some cases, it may be necessary to transfer the injured worker to a public healthcare facility and seek assistance from public health doctors to provide the appropriate medical treatment and full care.
