In the current climate where the Algerian government prioritizes revitalizing economic growth by bolstering medium and large industrial enterprises, this article explores a crucial aspect: dissecting the primary causes of the industrial setbacks Algeria experienced during the 1970s and early 1980s. This analysis aims to extract lessons from these historical failures to prevent their recurrence. Our review of field research across industrial enterprises has led to the identification of three sociological paradigms that explain this stagnation: the modernization thesis, the acculturation thesis, and the social thesis.
