Solidarity Tourism, A Tool For The Valorization And Development Of Rural Areas. Empirical Reference To The Wilaya Of Tizi-ouzou

Abstract

This article explore the role of solidarity tourism in the development and enhancement of rural areas in the wilaya of Tizi-Ouzou. It examines whether this form of tourism can serve as a lever for development in the Kabyle countryside, particularly in reducing unemployment and poverty. The adopted methodology combines both qualitative and quantitative approaches, including interviews with local tourism officials and the analysis of academic and professional sources. The study first identifies the location criteria for tourism in the region, then assesses the rural tourism resources, and finally presents the existing solidarity tourism offer. The findings suggest that solidarity tourism represents a human, social, economic, ethical, and environmental asset for the area.
