Mots-clés : Simplification, pédagogie de passivation, francisant anglo-nigérian, UNIOSUN Abstract Passivisation, a syntactic process which enables the transformation of a sentential structure from the active voice to the passive voice poses a lot of challenges to the academic performance of the Anglo-Nigerian university learners in French grammar. Previous studies have interrogated the necessary steps and their implications on the academic performance of the learners without simplifying these grammatical steps, showing other transformational means and the extra-linguistic values in the pedagogy of passivisation. This study, therefore, aims at simplifying the active-passive processes, foregrounding the other transformational means and showing the extra linguistic values of the subject-matter. Adopting an aspect of the cognitive theory elaborated by Jean Piaget, which refers to the application of mental processes, intelligence, thought and memory if learners are reinforced, thirty-two corpora randomly selected are explicitly analysed to illustrate the processes. Apart from its pedagogical value, passivisation is used to conceal the identity of the subject nominal group (SNG) in order not to implicate it in complicated circumstances. It is used in the administrative, journalistic and diplomatic correspondences. To improve the academic performance of the Anglo-Nigerian University French undergraduates, simplifying the grammatical steps and exposing them to the other means of active-passive transformation in an analytic manner by the teacher are indispensable.
