In today's interconnected world, football transcends the role of a sport, becoming a powerful medium for intercultural exchange and understanding. This study explores Algerian football fans' perceptions of football as a vehicle for promoting local cultures and enhancing global intercultural communication. The study aims to sketch how football fosters cultural representation, appreciation, and dialogue among diverse cultural groups. A sample of 120 Algerian football fans was surveyed through an online questionnaire, collecting both qualitative and quantitative data. Results highlight football’s potential as a cultural bridge, with Algerian fans recognizing its ability to showcase and promote local identities and traditions. Despite limited direct interaction with foreigners, fans appreciate the sport’s role in fostering intercultural understanding. However, challenges such as nationalism and prejudice remain areas of concern. Moving forward, football should continue to be leveraged as a tool for positive cultural exchange and global unity.
