The Legal System Of Academic Ethics Committees In Addressing Breaches Of Professional Obligations: A Case Study Of University Professors Between The Provisions Of Order No. 06-03 And Decision No. 991 Dated December 10, 2020.

Abstract

The activity of academic ethics committees serves as a reference tool for commitment, competency, and scientific integrity within the university institution. Based on this premise, the supervisory ministry has expedited the structuring of such committees at the level of higher education and scientific research institutions, as a measure aimed at curbing deviations and unethical practices, and thereby safeguarding the educational process for the university community as a whole. Decisions issued by academic ethics committees are classified as regulatory and supervisory in nature, rather than constituting the establishment of new legal entities. Therefore, their activity is adapted as a mediatory measure between the authority of appointment and the equally represented administrative committees, gathered in the form of a disciplinary council. This aspect will be explored in detail in this research paper.
