This study emphasizes the significance of electronic independence for African countries, which have heavily relied on imported digital technologies, increasing their vulnerability to cyber threats such as advanced attacks, fraud, data theft, and espionage. To combat these risks, it is crucial for these nations to enhance awareness of cybersecurity issues and educate users on best practices. Implementing training programs can help employees and users understand electronic risks and how to mitigate them effectively. Additionally, investing in local electronic infrastructure and developing technical capabilities is essential. Promoting collaboration between the private and public sectors in technology production and development will further support the necessary independence to address various cyber threats effectively.
