The Role Of Seed And Seedlings Certification & Control Center In Achieving Food Security

Abstract

Abstract The National Center for Seed and Seedling Control and Certification is deemed one of the most important official institutional mechanisms for achieving food security in Algeria, through the powers and tasks entrusted to it, most particularly after the inauguration of the National Seed Bank in 2022, and the state's endeavor to preserve the genetic heritage of Algerian seeds and work to develop and adapt them to climate changes, thereby ensuring increased productivity, reducing the import bill, and moving towards smart and sustainable agriculture.
