The Holy Quran contains a vast array of words and terms that emerged during the periods of revelation to the heart of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Some of these terms were already in use among the Arabs, while others were introduced as new words by the Quran. This study aims to uncover the impact of linguistic meaning and context on the understanding of the words and terms found in the Book of Allah, as interpreted by Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Imam Al-Sharawi. Despite their reliance on these two factors in understanding the words of Allah, there is a variation in the interpretation and meaning. This variation led us to question the reason behind the differences in understanding the words of the Quran between the interpreters. To answer this issue, we adopted an analytical and procedural approach, complemented by a comparative method that helps reveal the similarities and differences between the interpretations. Ultimately, we concluded several findings, including: Linguistic meaning and context are essential elements in interpreting Quranic texts. The Quran is rich in a vast number of words and terms, including purely Quranic terms that were introduced with the revelation, such as "monasticism" and "bribery." There are also words familiar to the Arabs that the Quran gave new meanings, such as "Tayammum" (dry ablution) and "Hajj" (pilgrimage).
