The novel has become the most important prose art in Algerian literature, due to its connection to reality and its mirror reflecting all its aspects, with all its details and circumstances. This is embodied by the novelist through the interweaving of dramatic events between the various characters in the novel. The latter addresses purely social, political, and historical themes. It opens a window onto this reality, connects with it, and reflects it through the course of events of the narrative path of the novel's characters and heroes. It also reflects all cultural systems, both implicit and explicit. The social and psychological system is one of the most important of these cultural systems, as they reveal the implications of the novel's text in all its dimensions, from customs and traditions to social behaviors and religious and cultural values, which reflect the behavior of the individual or group. My research paper aims to explore the social and psychological systems, both implicit and explicit, in the contemporary novel, through a contemporary Algerian novel, "The Furrows of Life" by Khalifa Al-Arabi Abdelhadi. This research aims to answer the following question: What is the psychological and social system? How are these patterns manifested and represented in the novel "Furrows of Life"? We use cultural criticism to monitor these phenomena and decipher their roots in the novel's story
