This study aims to investigate the dynamic relationship between human development and carbon dioxide emissions across 35 African countries from 1990 to 2022. By using advanced dynamic panel techniques, the DCCE approach, the findings demonstrate that the Human Development Index (HDI) significantly affects CO2 emissions. The quadratic term of HDI positively affects carbon emissions, disproving the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis. In contrast, green energy consumption adversely impacts dioxide emissions, while globalization indicates no effect on atmospheric pollution in the studied context. The empirical analysis provides policy recommendations to improve environmental conditions in the studied countries.
