The Impact Of Human Development And Oil Rent On Women’s Employment In Mena Region. Dynamic Panel Data Analysis (1991-2022)

Authors : Kihal Besma .

Abstract

This study examines how human development changed women's economic engagement in 15 MENA nations between 1991 and 2022. Economic and social indicators were also assessed, such as the fertility rate, oil rent, and GDP per capita. The study finds that oil rent negatively influences female economic involvement. In contrast, the human development index has a positive and significant impact using dynamic panel methods, precisely the CS-ARDL approach. The fertility rate and GDP per capita have no discernible influence. The study makes policy suggestions to enhance the status of women in this region.
