The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effects of oil price fluctuations on Algeria's economic growth in both short and long term, over the period extending from 1983 to 2022. To achieve this objective, we adopted an econometric model based on five variables. This model was estimated using the ARDL (autoregressive distributed lags) approach. The results show that the impacts of oil prices fluctuations on the evolution of Algeria’s GDP are positive and significant. In the long term, a minor increase in oil prices does little to stimulate investment and capital creation. The effects of higher oil prices are insufficient to create sustainable growth. The findings highlight the Algerian economy dependence on oil exports, Indeed.
