Women play an important role in household tasks as well as in agriculture. Whatever, their function and the tasks they carry out beside those hold in contribution by men. « farmer » Women role remain unclear or not described precisely and less studied. In the vision to illustrate rural woman participation in traditional oases agriculture and better understand the situation; inquiries were conducted in different regions including those of Beni-Souik and Branis oases in the region of Biskra, Algeria. Beside, their household responsibilities as home makers; woman in this regions plays an interesting function in different agricultural practices and breeding which is considered as an extension of domestic activities. Despite the fact that this role of peasant women is not recognized as economic contribution and they remain as unpaid labour; women in these oases perform important tasks in farming; they participate in hard strains that are known of masculine vocation such as soil preparation, weeding and harvesting. Through Data collected from 42 oases farm women using structured interview schedule; our results highlighted that farm women carry out individually different tasks in oases agriculture from soil preparation till harvesting even though the tasks are hard ones. The important role fulfilled by women in these oases of moun-tainous regions must be supported by technical assistance to preserve these farming systems and know-how lead by peasant women.
