Little is known about moths in arid regions of Algeria, a preliminary inventory of moths has been made during september and october 2018 in the region of Branis (Biskra, Algeria). Results have permitted to register 5 species of nocturne Lepidoptera under five genera and three families; Acronicta leporina, Agrotis segetum, Aspitates gilvaria, Dysgonia algira and Utetheisa pulchella. Scientific names of these species, habitat, symptoms and damage they could cause are given. The families of plants they are recorded on as well as the countries they were recorded in are given according LepIndex (The Global Lepidoptera Names Index).
