Abstract

The study aimed to explore the role of financial literacy through behavior and financial well-being in promoting economic empowerment among employees of banks operating in Palestine. By identifying the domains of financial literacy (financial awareness, financial planning, smart investing) and financial well-being (distributed profits, return on equity) alongside financial behavior, the study employed a descriptive-correlational methodology. Financial data from the financial statements of banks operating in Palestine for the years 2015-2022 were analyzed using the STATA program to examine the study's hypotheses. Among the key findings was the presence of an inverse correlation between financial literacy (financial awareness, financial planning, smart investing) through behavior and financial well-being (distributed profits, return on equity), stimulating economic empowerment (financial empowerment, economic empowerment) among employees of banks operating in Palestine. One of the main recommendations is to encourage the management of banks operating in Palestine to enhance the levels of financial literacy among their employees by organizing creative and innovative competitions that contribute to increasing the ability to achieve financial behavior and financial well-being, thereby achieving successful economic empowerment.
