Some of the texts of Marcuse, the Berlin thinker, state that true philosophy is the philosophy that takes concrete existence in its daily presence as a subject of reflection and revision. The study of this existence should take into consideration existence in itself rather than within abstract challenges. This existence always carries a hidden truth that does not reveal itself easily, it is something we must strive for its emergence, making it the object of manifestation. Engaging in this struggle reveals another dimension in Marcuse's philosophy, which is the Socratic dimension of truth. This is exactly what the research paper attempts to cover. It is a radical return to that revolutionary act carried by Marcuse's philosophy, but not in its Marxist, Hegelian, or Heidgerian dimensions, rather it is in a Socratic-Mayotic dimension, which has always mentioned Socrates as a subject of praise on the one hand, and praised Kierkegaard as a Socratic philosopher on the other hand. Finally, we could claim that Marcuse is both the Socrates and thinker of Berlin.
