El Romana Hotel (coffee) In Tlemcen – An Archaeological Study

Abstract

This article examines one of the archaeological and historical symbols of Tlemcen city, namely El Romana Hotel, from an archaeological perspective. It explores the general importance of Tlemcen's location for commerce, focusing on the city’s economic sphere, the history of the hotel’s construction, the significant events it witnessed, and the background of its naming. The study delves into the archaeological aspects, highlighting the hotel’s architectural elements, such as the entrance, ground floor, upper floor stairs, fireplace, residential units, and courtyard, related to the architectural side. It also discusses the pricing methods in the hotel as a commercial service establishment, the water supply system essential for commercial buildings, and concludes with some findings on the hotel’s role, especially in political, economic, social, and religious aspects نتناول في هذا المقال دراسة أحد الرموز الأثرية والتاريخية بمدينة تلمسان، وهو فندق الرمانة، من الناحية الأثرية وذلك بالتطرق الى أهمية الموقع العام لمدينة تلمسان منا الناحية التجارية والتركيز على الحيز الاقتصادي للمدينة، وتاريخ بناء الفندق وأهم الأحداث التي عرفها، والخلفيات المرتبطة بالتسمية، مع المرور إلى الدراسة الأثرية والتي تناولنا من خلالها أهم المكونات المعمارية للفندق، كالمدخل الطابق الأرضي، السلالم الطابق العلوي والموقد والوحدات السكنية والصحن لكل ماله علاقة بالجانب المعماري، كما تطرقنا الى كيفية تحديد الأسعار في الفندق باعتباره منشأة تجارية خدماتية، وصولا إلى طريقة إيصال الماء إليه باعتبار أن الماء من ضروريات المباني التجارية، وختمنا بحثنا ببعض النتائج عن الدور الذي يلعبه هذا الفندق، خاصة من النواحي السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية وحتى الدينية,
