This study investigates the factors influencing inflation in Algeria, comparing the impact of monetary elements such as money supply and exchange rates with non-monetary factors like unemployment, global oil prices, and GDP growth. Analyzing annual data from 1970 to 2022 through advanced quantitative methods, including lagged variables and scenario simulations, the research reveals that both monetary and non-monetary factors significantly affect inflation. Exchange rates and GDP growth are identified as key determinants. The scenario analysis highlights the economy's sensitivity to external shocks and demonstrates how different economic conditions can lead to varying inflation outcomes. The study offers crucial insights for policymakers, advocating for a holistic approach that integrates both monetary and non-monetary measures to improve price stability and economic resilience in Algeria.
