Exploring High-risk Causal Factors For School Shootings In The United States. A Case Study Of Student- Perpetrated School Attacks

Abstract
School shootings in the United States are viewed as a serious social issue with multiple individual, relationship, and societal factors. In this paper, we are going to explore this phenomenon and attempt to understand the causes through a historical stratification. Seventy-one school shootings have been selected, and three main causal factors have played a major role in motivating these attacks. Availability of guns, bullying, and psychological problems were found to be the direct causal factors shared by the majority of the studied cases. يعد العنف المدرسي المسلح في الولايات المتحدة ظاهرة حساسة لا بد من الوقوف عليها وتحديد أسبابها وبالتالي معالجتها، لما يترتب عنها من إصابات جسدية وأخرى نفسية قد تؤدي إلى الهلاك في غالب الأحيان، ويبدو أن المشكلة معقدة تتضمن عوامل فردية واجتماعية مختلفة. وعليه عملت هذه الورقة البحثية من خلال التدرج التاريخي على إبراز أهم العوامل والأسباب التي تدفع المتمدرس على ممارسة مثل هذه الأعمال الشنيعة داخل مؤسسته التعليمية. وبعد دراسة 71 حالة من الهجمات المدرسية دراسة وصفية، تبين أن ثلاثة عوامل مباشرة ألا وهي: توفر السلاح، التنمر والمشاكل النفسية لعبت دورًا رئيسيًا في التحفيز على معظم الهجمات.
