Green Banking: Towards A Green Financial Engineering

Abstract

With the increasing risks of climate change and its negative repercussions on the global economy, there has been a growing interest in the environmental and climate-friendly economy over the past few years. This interest in climate issues has stimulated the trends of global financial markets, international financial institutions and banks to produce and innovate financial instruments to provide the necessary financing to keep pace with these developments. This research aims to introduce green banking and green banks and shed light on green financial innovations as, according to researchers, a building block of green financial engineering.
