This empirical study explores the dimensions of technostress among university faculty members. It specifically examines the primary technostress indicators experienced by professors and investigates whether these indicators significantly vary according to gender, academic rank, years of experience, and administrative responsibility. The study was conducted in March 2026 at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, Ibn Khaldoun University of Tiaret, this research employed a quantitative cross-sectional design. Data were collected from a randomly selected sample of 69 permanent university professors. The findings revealed high levels of technostress across the evaluated indicators, led by professional technology dependence, usage intensity, information overload, and communication overload. Regarding demographic and professional differences, female professors exhibited significantly higher levels in continuous digital interruptions compared to males. Furthermore, full professors reported significantly higher pressure regarding constant connectivity compared to assistant professors. Concerning professional experience, significant differences emerged, favoring professors with 8 or more years of experience in constant connectivity pressure, whereas those with fewer than 8 years of experience scored higher in task-switching. Finally, professors holding administrative responsibilities demonstrated significantly higher technostress levels in professional technology dependence, role boundary blurring, and continuous digital interruptions.
