This study aims to analyze the impact of science and technology on human development in a group of developed countries during the period 2000–2023, using the dynamic ordinary least squares (DOLS) panel method. The study’s results indicate the existence of a long-term cointegration relationship between the Human Development Index and science and technology indicators. Furthermore, the findings show that increases in research and development expenditure, intellectual property receipts, non-resident patent applications, and scientific and technical journal articles lead to a long-term rise in the Human Development Index. Conversely, increases in intellectual property payments and resident patent applications result in a long-term decline in the growth of the Human Development Index.
