This paper examines the impact of democracy and globalisation on Environmental Degradation in Arab countries from 1990 to 2023. This study adopts two widely used measures of democracy and evaluates environmental degradation using both CO2 emissions and Greenhouse Gas emissions. The empirical findings of Pooled Mean Group panel model indicate that economic growth and energy use have a positive impact on environmental degradation. Democracy contributes to degradation when measured as a proxy for freedom and equality; however, when democracy reflects societal engagement and political participation, it may reduce carbon emissions in Arab countries. For globalization, the results indicate that an increase in political globalization mitigates environmental degradation, whereas both economic and cultural globalization exhibit fluctuating effects.
