International Criminal Responsibility For Violations Against Civilians In The Gaza Strip

Authors : Amiour Hanene . Mekhneche Kenza .

Abstract

Abstract: This study investigates the legal dimensions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Gaza Strip, with particular emphasis on the international criminal responsibility arising from violations committed against civilians. It seeks to identify the legal grounds upon which accountability may be established and to evaluate the effectiveness of international mechanisms designed to prosecute those responsible for serious breaches of international law. The study concludes that certain acts directed against civilians may qualify as crimes against humanity when the constituent elements required under international law are fulfilled. Despite the existence of legal frameworks intended to ensure accountability, their implementation continues to face substantial legal and political constraints that undermine the delivery of justice and effective remedies for victims.
