Abstract: This paper examines, from a descriptive-analytical perspective, the growing role of sports influencers in shaping nutritional culture on social media platforms, particularly through the promotion of dietary practices that may have either positive or negative effects. It addresses the increasing reliance on “digital opinion leaders” as sources of health-related information, as well as the overlap this creates between athletic motivation, lifestyle modelling, and commercial promotion. Methodologically, the study is based on a critical review of recent scholarly literature and an analysis of the communicative practices used by sports influencers. The findings suggest that influencers’ nutritional discourse is often shaped by the “commodification of the body” and by advice rooted in personal experience rather than scientific evidence. The paper therefore stresses the need to strengthen media literacy and health awareness in order to critically engage with “trend-driven” dietary patterns. Keywords: sports influencers; nutritional culture; social media platforms; health education.
