This study explores the representation of Algerian Cultural Identity in the digital space by examining the audiovisual discourse of videos published on the official YouTube channel of the Algerian Ministry of Culture and Arts. To achieve this, the study adopts a semiotic approach as an analytical tool, aiming to reveal both explicit and implicit meanings through the analysis of a purposive sample of five videos. Roland Barthes’ framework is employed to deconstruct the two levels of meaning: denotative (explicit) and connotative (implicit). Additionally, Roman Jakobson’s approach is used to analyse the musical dimension. The analysis focuses on cultural and heritage symbols, the nature of the music, representations of gender, and the language used in titles, as well as in both written and musical content. The study concludes that the videos present Algeria's tangible and intangible heritage within a unified cultural discourse, reflecting regional diversity within a single national identity. The findings also highlight the role of traditional music in activating collective memory, highlight the positive representation of women, and the presence of linguistic diversity through the use of Arabic and Tamazight languages. These elements together strengthen social cohesion and national unity.
