The Integrative Dimension Of The Fourth Geneva Convention And Its First Additional Protocol With Algerian Legislation In Promoting Human Security Values During Armed Conflicts

Authors : Karkouri Mebarka Hanane .

Abstract

The integration between the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, Additional Protocol I of 1977, and the Algerian legislative framework constitutes a legal foundation for promoting the values of human security during armed conflicts, The significance of this integration lies in ensuring the effective transformation of international obligations into domestic implementation, thereby guaranteeing the effective protection of civilians in accordance with the rules of international humanitarian law, This requires an analysis of the conceptual and legal dimensions of human security within the framework of international humanitarian law, as a legal regime aimed at safeguarding human dignity during armed conflicts, followed by an examination of the legislative incorporation of the principles of international humanitarian law through the constitutional and legislative framework that reflects Algeria's commitment to the international conventions it has ratified.
