The Role Of International Agreements And Actors In Environmental Protection For The Achievement Of Sustainable Development

Abstract
This research paper addresses one of the crucial topics within international environmental law, namely, elucidating the role of international agreements and actors in environmental protection for the attainment of sustainable development. Given that the subject of the environment and sustainable development ranks among the emergent issues that have garnered considerable scholarly attention, the central problematic of this contribution may be formulated as follows: To what extent do international agreements and actors contribute to environmental protection in furtherance of sustainable development? The response is structured around two principal axes: the first examines international agreements in consolidating environmental protection for sustainable development, while the second explores the role of international and regional actors in environmental protection. Our findings reveal several key conclusions, notably that environmental protection and sustainable development constitute interconnected and mutually reinforcing objectives. Furthermore, international agreements, covenants, conferences, and declarations have significantly contributed to establishing the legal framework at the international level. States and international governmental organizations, led by the United Nations, emerge as fundamental and influential actors in the pursuit of sustainable development. تعالج هذه الورقة البحثية احد المواضيع المهمة في القانون الدولي البيئي من حيث بيان دور الاتفاقيات والفواعل الدولية في حماية البيئة تحقيقا للتنمية المستدامة كون موضوع البيئة والتنمية المستدامة من المواضيع المستحدثة والتي تولى اهتماما من طرف الباحثين حيث كانت إشكالية هذه المداخلة : ما مدى مساهمة الاتفاقيات والفواعل الدولية في حماية البيئة تحقيقا للتنمية المستدامة وكانت الإجابة وفق مبحثين المبحث الأول: الاتفاقيات الدولية في تكريس حماية البيئة تحقيقا للتنمية المستدامة و المبحث الثاني: دور الفواعل الدولية والإقليمية في حماية البيئة, حيث توصلنا الى عدة نتائج أهمها : ان حماية البيئة والتنمية المستدامة هدفان مترابطان ومتكاملان ، كما أسهمت الاتفاقيات والعهود والمؤتمرات والاعلانات الدولية في وضع الاطار القانوني على المستوى الدولي (دوليا) وتعد الدول والمنظمات الدولية الحكومية على راسها هيئة الأمم المتحدة فاعلا أساسيا ومؤثرا في مهمة تحقيق التنمية المستدامة.
