The Research Gap In The Context Of Paradigm Shifts

Abstract
This paper aims to provide a theoretical examination of the concept of the research gap in light of the paradigm shifts that have shaped scientific inquiry. It is based on the premise that the research gap constitutes a fundamental dimension of scientific research and one of the core concepts upon which the epistemological structure of scientific inquiry is built. The study adopts a theoretical and analytical approach to the concepts of the research gap and the paradigm. It seeks to explore the relationship between paradigm shifts and the formation of research gaps by shedding light on the ways in which changes in prevailing paradigms contribute to the emergence and redefinition of research gaps. In doing so, the paper addresses its central research question: How has paradigm shift contributed to the formation and development of research gaps within the field of scientific research? The study concludes that the relationship between research gaps and paradigm shifts is not a direct one, but rather an interactive relationship. The accumulation of research gaps can lead to a reconsideration of existing knowledge and may contribute to paradigm shifts and the reshaping of scientific knowledge.
