Résumé: À l’ère de la mondialisation et de la domination des images, la traduction audiovisuelle s’impose comme un instrument essentiel de médiation culturelle. En Algérie, reconnue pour sa diversité linguistique et son riche héritage culturel, la TAV joue un rôle clé dans la valorisation et la sauvegarde des expressions artistiques, historiques et orales. Cette étude analyse la contribution de la TAV à la préservation et à la valorisation du patrimoine culturel algérien. Corpus basé sur le documentaire “L’Algérie vue du ciel” de Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Elle adopte une approche traductologique et sémiotique afin d’examiner comment la TAV, selon les choix traductifs, peut préserver ou altérer l’identité culturelle d’une œuvre audiovisuelle. Les résultats montrent que la TAV constitue un outil stratégique de médiation interculturelle, révélant la mémoire collective et transmettant les valeurs patrimoniales algériennes à un public mondial, tout en respectant les spécificités linguistiques et symboliques locales. Abstract: In an era shaped by globalization and the predominance of images, audiovisual translation (AVT) emerges as a vital means of cultural mediation. In Algeria, a country marked by linguistic diversity and a rich cultural legacy, AVT plays a crucial role in safeguarding and enhancing artistic, historical, and oral expressions. This study examines how AVT contributes to preserving and promoting Algerian cultural heritage through an analysis of the French documentary “Algeria from the Sky” by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Adopting a combined translational and semiotic perspective, it explores how translation choices may either maintain or reshape the cultural identity embedded in audiovisual content. The findings highlight AVT as a strategic channel of intercultural exchange, capable of conveying collective memory and transmitting Algeria’s heritage to a global audience while remaining sensitive to local linguistic and symbolic nuances.
