An Econometric Study Of The Dynamics Of Modern Economic Growth In Algeria Over The Period (1990–2023)

Authors : Chaiberas Mohamed . Rahali Boujemaa .

Abstract

The study aimed to demonstrate the relationship and impact between modern economic growth and its determinants in Algeria for the period (1990–2023), using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The standard model was estimated after testing the stability of the time series and verifying the existence of a long-term cointegration relationship. The results revealed a long-term equilibrium relationship, as well as the significant positive impact of gross capital formation, average years of schooling, and life expectancy at birth on the logarithm of GDP, and the inverse impact of trade openness, foreign direct investment, renewable energy consumption, and carbon dioxide emissions.
