Intercultural communication stands as a core aspect of foreign language teaching in EFL classrooms, as these environments serve as significant contexts for learners to acquire cultural knowledge and develop intercultural communication skills. The research examines how B2 learners deal with diverse cultural perspectives in the classroom and the challenges they encounter while developing intercultural competence. Using a case study methodology, the study investigates classroom interactions, learners ‘perceptions, and teaching practices that promote intercultural understanding. Data was collected through, learner interviews, teacher feedback, and experiential activities providing an overarching view of the role of intercultural communication in EFL learning. The findings reveal that although learners exhibit a solid grasp of linguistic skills, they frequently struggle with subtle cultural nuances. The study stresses the need for adopting more targeted pedagogical approaches to enhance intercultural competence, suggesting that integrating cultural content into language instruction can significantly ameliorate learners' communicative competence in various contexts. These insights contribute to the ongoing discourse on fostering effective intercultural pedagogy in EFL classrooms.
