Abstract
Urban-rural integration represents a major challenge and opportunity with the rapid development of advanced technology and the spread of artificial intelligence. The urban-rural relationship has historically been characterized by gaps in economic development, infrastructure, access to services, and social opportunities. However, digital technology and intelligent systems are beginning to reshape this relationship, by creating new possibilities for convergence between the two fields, with consequent new social and organizational challenges. This research aims to analyze the dynamics of urban-rural integration in the context of advanced technology and artificial intelligence, drawing on diverse global experiences, highlighting the roles of civil society, regulatory frameworks, and social entrepreneurship in this transformation. The research also discusses the sociotechnological challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence, especially with regard to vulnerable groups, highlighting its potential in promoting inclusion and spatial justice. The research concludes by proposing practical pathways for achieving more sustainable and equitable urban-rural integration in the digital age.
