الملخص

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى استقصاء وصف الشريف الإدريسي للجغرافيا الحيوية (الثروة النباتية والحيوانية) في شبه الجزيرة العربية خلال القرن السادس الهجري/12م، وذلك من خلال عرض وتحليل المادة العلمية التي قدّمها هذا الجغرافي البارز في مؤلفه الشهير نزهة المشتاق في اختراق الآفاق. وتتجلّى أهمية هذه الدراسة في إبراز ما تضمّنه هذا العمل الجغرافي من معلومات قيّمة تتعلّق بالثروات الطبيعية، لا سيما ما يتصل بالنباتات والحيوانات التي كانت موجودة في شبه الجزيرة العربية آنذاك. وقد اعتمد في منهج الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي والمنهج المقارن، من خلال تتبّع وتحليل ما ورد من أخبار ووقائع تخص الأقاليم الواقعة ضمن شبه الجزيرة العربية. وقد جاءت الدراسة في تمهيد ومبحثين رئيسين؛ تناول التمهيد التعريف بالشريف الإدريسي، ونسبه، وأهم محطات حياته ورحلاته، بالإضافة إلى أبرز مؤلفاته. أما المبحث الأول، فقد خُصّص لبيان الموقع الجغرافي للجزيرة العربية وطبيعة المناخ، في حين تناول المبحث الثاني الجغرافيا الحيوية كما وصفها الإدريسي. وخُتمت الدراسة بعرض النتائج المتوصل إليها إلى جانب مجموعة من التوصيات. Biogeography of the Arabian Peninsula in the 6th Century AH/12 CE: A Reading of Al-Idrisi's Nuzhat al-Mushtaq This study aims to investigate Al-Sharif Al-Idrisi’s depiction of the biogeography (flora and fauna) of the Arabian Peninsula during the 6th century AH/12CE. This is achieved through the presentation and analysis of the scientific material provided by this prominent geographer in his renowned work, Nuzhat al-Mushtaq fi Ikhtiraq al-Afaq (The Excursion of One Who is Eager to Traverse the Regions of the World). The significance of this study lies in highlighting the valuable information contained in this geographical work regarding natural resources, particularly the plants and animals that existed in the Arabian Peninsula at that time. Methodologically, the researcher adopted both descriptive and comparative approaches to trace and analyze the accounts and facts related to the regions situated within the Arabian Peninsula. The study is structured into a preface and two main sections. The preface introduces Al-Sharif Al-Idrisi, his lineage, key milestones in his life, his travels, and his most notable works. The first section is dedicated to defining the geographical location and climatic nature of the Arabian Peninsula, while the second section examines the biogeography as described by Al-Idrisi. The study concludes by presenting the key findings reached, along with a set of recommendations.
