Swift leaps in science and technology across diverse fields have ushered in fresh, unforeseen risks that threaten human health and the planet. As science advances, so too do uncertainty and ambiguity. This calls for embracing the precautionary principle as a shield against uncertain threats that could harm us later. The lack of complete scientific knowledge should not stall us from taking decisive actions to protect health and the environment. Given the novelty of the precautionary principle and the murkiness surrounding its use at national and global levels, it becomes essential to test its suitability and tease out its legal significance amid an era of increasingly intricate crises.
