Artificial Intelligence And Personal Data Protection: An Analytical Study Of The Provisions Of Law No. 25-11

Authors : Ghribi Yahia .

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The contemporary digital revolution presents unprecedented legal challenges concerning the protection of personal data. While Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications serve as a primary catalyst for innovation and socio-economic development, they simultaneously impose fundamental risks to data privacy and integrity. Recognizing these complexities, the Algerian legislature has sought to modernize the legal framework by enacting Law No. 25-11, which amends and supplements Law No. 18-07 concerning the protection of natural persons in the processing of personal data. Accordingly, this analytical study aims to evaluate the adequacy and efficacy of the current legal and institutional framework, with a particular focus on the capacity of newly introduced mechanisms to fortify data protection amidst the rapid advancements in AI technologies.
