Verbal And Nonverbal Communication Skills Among Latchkey Children -a Field Study In Batna Province-

Authors : Heroual Mounir .

Abstract

This study examines the verbal and nonverbal abilities of latchkey children to determine whether these abilities vary depending on various factors. 15 latchkey children (9 boys and 6 girls) were part of the study group. The Verbal and Nonverbal Communication Scale by Violet, Fouad Ibrahim, et al. (2024) was used to collect the data. It uses a descriptive approach. Following data analysis, the following conclusions were reached: - The verbal and nonverbal communication abilities of latchkey children were mediocre at best. - The length of time the kids spent at home by themselves (between 6 and 8 hours) did not significantly affect their verbal and nonverbal abilities.
