Abstract This study aims to analyse the impact of family and social environment on guiding university students towards adopting self-employment and founding private projects post-graduation. The research is based on a descriptive-analytical methodology using a questionnaire distributed among a sample of 77 male and female students from four faculties. The results reveal that the father's professional status and both material and moral family support significantly contribute to fostering entrepreneurial orientation among students. Additionally, the presence of family members who own private enterprises increases the likelihood of choosing independent projects as a career path. The findings indicate that social capital and family support play a pivotal role in shaping students' perceptions and practices towards entrepreneurship. The study recommends integrating family awareness programs within university entrepreneurship support strategies to strengthen the culture of self-employment among youth.
