Abstract
Our study aimed to identify the most important opportunities and challenges in using artificial intelligence (AI) in scientific research. We also tried to explore the best ways to improve its use in academic research. We relied on the descriptive–analytical method, and we chose the research population from students at Blida 2 University. The study sample was selected using purposive sampling, and the questionnaire was used as the data collection tool. We reached several findings, including: students rely on AI only as a supporting tool and not as a substitute for learning. The benefit of using AI in scientific research is due to the ease of finding different sources and references. We also concluded that the marginalization of critical thinking is one of its biggest risks.
