The current study, entitled Informal Communication in the Academic Digital Environment: A Dialectical Study of the Trilogy (regulation, activation, inhibition) aimed to determine the impact of digitization on informal communication in universities, or in other words, to discover whether digitization regulates, activates, or inhibits informal communication between academic groups. Based on researchers' studies and simulations of the academic reality, the following conclusions were reached: - Digitization in the academic environment regulates informal communication between academic groups. - Digitization in the academic environment does not activate informal communication between academic groups. - Digitization in the academic environment inhibits informal communication between academic groups.
