Abstract: This study aims to highlight a form of misinformation prevalent in the digital environment, particularly on Facebook, by examining how a prominent Algerian Facebook page active in combating fake news, "Fake News DZ," deals with rumors. The study employed a content analysis tool to examine a purposively selected sample of the page’s posts from October 2020 to October 2021. The findings reveal that political and health-related topics are the most active domains for rumors during the analyzed period, with manipulations of words and images serving as primary tools for their dissemination. Furthermore, the page relies on a variety of sources to debunk rumors and uses original images and detailed explanations of the falsifications as the main evidence to refute misleading information.
